Laser Engraving: Stainless Steel

One of the most used materials for both parts and signage is stainless steel.

We have two methods of marking stainless steel.

First, our CO2 laser pairs with a product called CerMark to produce a laser mark which is black but does not create a recess below the material surface.

Second, our fiber lasers, from a Ytterbium fiber source, can permanently mark stainless steel and a variety of other metals with no added process.  This mark typically leaves a recess mark of .001″ – .002″

As in other materials, parts, faceplates and enclosures form the bulk of our work in stainless steel

We have local material suppliers that produce custom size steel plates with proper hole positions to supply control panels turn-key from our location.

Our fiber lasers mark all metals used in manufacturing today. In addition to stainless steel we mark, brass, copper, chrome plate, tungsten, carbide, gold plate, and heat treated steel up to 9 mohs or 80 Rockwell.
